Stacey Wein, the Copley Hospital Health Sciences Librarian, has put together a display to educate the public about United States Pharmacopeial (USP) Pictograms. USP Pictograms are standardized graphic images that help convey medication instructions, precautions, and/or warnings to patients and consumers.
This display will be at the Lanpher Library for the next few weeks.
Pictograms help by using simple images that are particularly helpful in passing on important information to patients. They make it easier to understand directions of prescriptions, avoiding errors, resulting in safe and effective drug use.
