I'm getting so excited for the Me...Jane Story Walk® that will begin Saturday, Feb. 23rd (tomorrow!) from 10-12. Start at Hyde Park Elementary School and walk up Main St....Stop at the Congregational Church for some refreshments and then cross the road and continue down Main Street to finish the story. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's the Good News. The not-so-good news: I had originally planned to set up the Story Walk® and keep it up from Saturday-Wednesday, but realistically it isn't going to work out that way. :( With the weather and the way the posts have to go into the snow/ground....it just isn't going to work out well. I am going to have to take it down on Saturday afternoon around 1:00. HOWEVER....I will put it back up on Tuesday the 26th in the morning until late afternoon....on Tuesday it will START AND END AT THE LANPHER LIBRARY. Please feel welcome to come on Tuesday and explore the amazing story by Patrick McDonnell...and try out the fun and fabulous Story Walk ® experience. HOORAY!!!! Join us on Saturday, February 23rd from 10-12 for a Community Storywalk®. Start at Hyde Park Elementary School and continue up Main Street as you read pages from the RED CLOVER title, Me...Jane, by Patrick McDonnell. Take a break at the Congregational Church to enjoy some refreshments before crossing the street to continue reading the book, finishing back at the elementary school. The Story Walk® will be up from Saturday the 23rd-Wed. 27th, so if you are unable to read Me....Jane on Saturday, please feel welcome to stroll around the village at your leisure. Me...Jane, by Patrick McDonnell is the sweet and inspiring story of the young girl who would grow up to be Dr. Jane Goodall. It won a Caldecott Honor last year and is one of the 10 books nominated for the Red Clover Vermont Children's Choice Book Award. Story Walk ® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. On Monday, February 18th at 3:00, our next FREE, FUN, INFORMATIVE AND INTERACTIVE Junior Naturalist Program takes place. How can snow act like a blanket? What survival techniques do Vermont animals use during the cold winter months? What's the difference between a burrow, yard, warren and den? Come to the Lanpher Library on Monday the 18th and find out! Thank you to our February sponsor: North Country Property Maintenance. The Lanpher Library has put up our Giving Tree that is decorated with red and white hearts. Each heart represents a dollar amount and an item on a wish list, such as $5 toward Interlibrary Loan, $10 Red Clover children's book, $10 Summer Reading Program Prize, $20 Adult Programs, $10 Repair of the Civil War Roster, etc.
Please consider giving toward one of these, or other items on t |
