THE LANPHER LIBRARY IS A HALLOWEEN CANDY DONATION DROP OFF SITE FOR HYDE PARK PARTNERS IN EDUCATION (PIE). Below is their information about the "candy drive"! Have you visited Hyde Park Village for Halloween? What a wonderful experience it has been for us for the past 7 years and we are looking forward to another one! This year, Partners In Education and the Lanpher Library are teaming up to help support the village residents who so graciously open their doors and their hearts to neighbors near and far. The two organizations are hosting a candy drop this year. If you would like to support the village residents, please drop off your bags of candy to the Lanpher Library starting on Tuesday, October 22nd. All donations of candy will need to be at the library by closing time on Wednesday, October 30th. See the website for library hours: www.lanpherlibrary.org. You may also drop bags through the book drop when the library is closed. If you are a village resident and would like to receive donations of candy, please contact Heather at [email protected]. Also, check out this tribute to Hyde Park Halloween that was written by a local writer last year: http://markfreeman.wordpress.com/2012/10/29/halloween-in-the-park/ MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH AT 6:00! We’ll also explore the role they have in changing their environment and talk about how that might be helpful (or not) to humans. (Sponsored by a donation from Fred’s Import Specialists, Inc. THANK YOU!!!!) MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR NEXT MONTH: Powering the Planet…Monday, Dec. 2, 6:00 p.m. On the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30, the Lanpher Library hosts a book discussion. The discussions are informal and facilitated by those who choose the titles. (We take turns choosing). Please stop by the library if you are interested in attending.
