Even though it may seem like nothing has changed at the Lanpher Library, some of you might notice that there is a bar code label on the backs of the books. Some of you might hear little "beeps" coming from the office, or a public access computer...we are hard at work cataloging each and every item into the Koha system so that we are ready to "GO LIVE" on June 13th! So far, we have over 5000 items cataloged.
What does that mean for you, the Lanpher Library patron? Well, after June 13th, you will need to get a new library card. We will enter and update your information and you will get a card with a bar code on it and we'll give you an access number so that, if you want to, you can create your own account within the Koha system.
After you've created your account, you will then be able to check your library holdings from home. If you want to know how many books you have checked out...you can do that.
All patrons will be able to check the Lanpher Library catalog from any computer with internet access. You will be able to place reserves on a book, or browse our collection.
We're getting excited for this transition and hope that the Library community is too!
