Thanks to donations from the Village Trustees, The Hyde Park Selectboard, Polow, Polow and Mahoney,  the  Hyde Park Community Collaborative Group and the voters at Town Meeting in Hyde Park:  we, as a community, will "go live" with Front Porch Forum next week!!

Front Porch Forum is an online neighborhood where you can connect with your friends and neighbors and find out what is going on in the community.  You can use Front Porch Forum to:
*Find your lost cat or dog.
*Recommend a babysitter
*Report a break-in
*Sell a bike or canoe
*Organize a Community Party
*Connect with your neighbors.

And much, much more.  A Front Porch Forum user in Cambridge told me that he logs in everyday and reads it like the daily mail!  You'll get a daily e-newsletter.  Hear from your neighbors and post messages yourself.  Each town has its own forum.  No fees.  No spam.  Local.  Won't overflow your inbox.  Online conversations help neighbors connect and build community.

It is VERY EASY to join and you can join NOW!  Just go to frontporchforum.com and follow the instructions for signing up.  Yeah!!!!

Thank You very much Hyde Park voters!  The Lanpher Library appreciates the continued support of the Lanpher Memorial Library.  We hope everyone gets a chance to use the library soon.

We currently have the art of Geoff Corey on display at the Library.  His watercolors and acrylics grace our walls and are enjoyed by visitors to the library.  His paintings are also for sale as are hand painted greeting cards.
There is also a visiting display from Vermont Start with the Arts where local child care programs learned about using literature and illustration to create.  Take a look at the scrapbooks that document the art and information about this great Early Ed. program.

We recently visited the Regional Library of the VT Dept. of Libraries and borrowed around 150 titles to supplement our own collection.  Many of these are in Large Print.  If you are having trouble reading the fine print in books, do not despair.  Besides those borrowed from the Regional Library, we have quite a collection of large print titles.

You don't have to visit the library to use it anymore.  Just check out our links page on this website....you can borrow audio and e-books from Listen Up! Vermont, you can take FREE online classes from the Universal Class site.  You can search our catalog to find out what materials we have here.  You can go to the Vermont Online Library to research hundreds of data bases and look at old census records through Heritage Quest.
Please read the info. on our links page for individual login information as each site had different password/user name requirements.  Contact us for specifics:  888-4628 or on the Contact Us page......or stop by.

See you soon.
